Getting a Guy's view on your shoes...
So as you know by now, I am writing posts for Legit's website (watch this space for my next post on Thursday!), one of the other bloggers is Guy Guru and this is his take on the shoes we wear:
ClogsThey’re bold, chunky and will definitely grab attention. Wearing these Dutch-inspired shoes says you’re either someone who loves to be different or you’re someone different who wants to be loved. You’re the kind of gal who would much rather be chic than bother what others might think … and why should you? Personally, the larger chunky versions are a bit of a turn-off for me. The more petite-looking ones say you’re into trying new things but don’t want to be over the top.
Neon sneakers
Going to a grungy club later? Sweet. Rock on and can I get your number? Going to a VIP bar? Ugh, we don’t sell booze to minors! I’m all for dressing down and showing your street-wise side, but you’ll need to consider the venue when wearing these glow in the dark numbers. Girls who wear these shoes want to show they’re young at heart, but be careful not to look like a 10-year-old. Act your age, not your shoe size, and so on. Also, please girls, do not wear these shoes with a nice evening dress.
Spiked stiletto boots
The stiletto was designed for two things:
1) to make running in them impossible
2) to grab the attention of everyone in the room.
Let’s face it – you’re not going to be wearing these to a formal dinner party or someone’s wedding, unless you really hate the bride. You’re wearing them because they make you feel sexy and make everyone else agree. These are best worn with a skin-tight leather pants, not leopard-print, and an attitude to match. The feeling of power is (probably) great, but the trade-off is the fact that they make you seem somewhat unapproachable, as well as those jealous looks from other girls.
To quote Rihanna: “Sticks and stones may break my bones but whips and chains excite me…” Unless they don’t, your stilettos will probably lead to some awkward conversations at a club.

Sorry for the silence lately, things have been very busy in my personal life but I will be working on some posts this weekend... I promise! I have some good news... My next blogpost for Legit (South African fashion brand goes live on the 27th) so be sure to watch out for that link!

In other news, we have been going through somewhat of a heatwave here in Cape Town, it's been as hot as 35'C (95'F) this week! It's been a real effort to try keep cool!
